It’s taken a while to put this together, mainly because I’ve sat on the sidelines pondering which way this madness will go. Now at the beginning of 2012, it’s very clear that almost all of our societal pillars are going to crash and burn, as the worlds finances slip into a terminal decline and the institutions charged with protecting our personal wealth run from one crisis to another. I’m afraid to say that a phoenix will not rise from the ashes, expect a different bird all together.

We’re knee deep in crap with almost nowhere to turn – religion is blighted, politics is toxic, money is the root of all evil, so what have we got left? There’s no point in considering ‘bricks and mortar’ or housing – Detroit is an indication that our salvation does not have a roof!

In the absence of a logical solution, we tend to look elsewhere for help in our times of need. Almost anything is better than the state we’re in, especially if it can produce a viable alternative that can be exchanged for goods, services, food, even shelter from the current storm.

A few months ago our rulers decided to save the banking system at the expense of the public. Needless to say that rules out investing in pensions or shares. The current debacle has shown that bankers are masters of ‘white collar crime’, and I sincerely hope you don’t trust any government that supports corrupt banking practices over you and your hard earned cash.

It’s time to wake up and smell the coffee, you owe it to yourself. Now is the time for a paradigm shift and I can’t see a better way of changing our reliance on money than this… Exchange your almost valueless money for something that will enrich your life beyond the norm – Embrace Art!

How can you do this? Become a patron, support art in the community, collect, even tap into that ‘inner-artist’ and explore your hidden talent, you MIGHT just hit on a goldmine.

Art can also be an investment – one that enriches your life, not your bank balance. I believe that embracing the aesthetics of art is one way that we can purge society of the greed that’s led us into the current predicament.
